Honey Cut Out Cookies

There is a very important food holiday today, but first I mustache you a question.

Did you participate in No Shave November? If not, and you are jealous of all your friends and their long, luxurious staches, fear not. Today is National Cookie Day, and I have the perfect cookies for your facial hair depravity.

And the best part is that after Don't Shave December you get to eat yummy cookies instead of shaving off a two month old mustache.

Honey Cut Out Cookies
makes 2 dozen
1 ¾ cup flour
½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup honey, melted
1 egg
½ cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Mix together the butter, sugar, and honey. Add in the egg. In a separate bowl, combine the salt, baking powder, and flour. Add the wet and dry ingredients until well incorporated. Cover and refrigerate the dough for 10 minutes. Roll the dough out about ¼” thick. Cut it into your desired shapes, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Allow the cookies to sit for 5 minutes before removing to cooling racks.

I guess today marks the start of Christmas cookie baking season. Bring it on!
