Chocolate Oatmeal Pancakes

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I have spotted something wrong here.
How about you?

What is up with this poem? Violets are not blue, they are violet. They have their name for a reason. Here is a card with a stamped flower and a floral background that really is violet. We already give the poor kindergarteners enough issues learning all the colors. We should not confuse them more with erroneous poems. My card will set all the confusion back to order.

As I have firmly asserted before, you cannot go wrong with chocolate. It makes just about everything better. I also hold to the not so widely accepted belief that oatmeal does the same. Combined in this awesome pancake, these ingredients will be sure to brighten your whole day.

Chocolate Oatmeal Pancakes
makes about 8-10 pancakes
1 cup quick oats
6 tbsp cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
Whisk all the ingredients together. Preheat a nonstick pan to medium heat. Once it is hot, pour about 3 tbsp of batter onto it to make each pancake. Flip once bubbles start to form on the top and the bottom looks dry.
