Bagels

(cinnamon sugar, plain, and blueberry)

RECIPE (ten bagels)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1.5 TBL sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2.5 tsp yeast

  1. Put ingredients into bread machine. Set to dough cycle and wait until it's done.
  2. Take out the dough, and divide it into ten equal balls. Make a one inch whole in the middle of each ball by pushing your thumbs through it.
  3. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Bring 2TBL sugar to boil in 2 quarts of water. Put a bagel into the water for 1 1/2 minutes, turn it over, and boil the other side for 1 1/2 minutes. Repeat with all the bagels.
  5. Set the oven to 400 degrees, and bake for 20 minutes, or until slightly browned.

I also made pretzels by skipping boiling them. I just baked them like normal.
